Play & pack up
When it’s time to refresh playtime, members pack up their items for another child to enjoy, and exchange them for whatever catches their eye.
Who we are
Calgary Toy Library was founded by a handful of Calgarian moms shortly after the birth of our first babies. It didn't take long to see how quickly children grow, and how their interests can shift from month to month. We leaned heavily on each other, borrowing toys, passing along gear, and with every exchange came a bit of advice or just the quiet reassurance that no one was doing this alone. We wanted more parents to feel that. As our babies moved through blocks to walkers, the toy library grew too.
Since then, we've grown through a few chapters and facilitated over 8,000 loans with a dozen volunteers. But our heart has always been the same: helping families make a meaningful shift from buying more to needing less. We don't have to own everything - often, we just need access to it.
